Rebecca grew up in California, where she was influenced by her mother and grandmother, both artists and dancers. After recieving degrees in fine arts and dance from the University of Oregon she moved to Saskatoon. There she developed her own work, exhibiting in both Canada and the U.S.By 1978 she was combining dance and fabric art into performance art. In 1988 she moved to Winnipeg where she worked in childrens theatre as a costume and set designer. A Canada Council Grant in 1992 enabled her to develop new performance art integrating dance, fabric art, and video. Since 1993 she has lived in Victoria and continued to develop work in the areas of visual, video and performance art. Her visual art in particular has been influenced by the natural beauty of this area.
